Reception Style :: Uplighting

Adding lighting to your wedding is much more than just adding candles to your tables.

Ambient lighting is about creating a mood, an atmosphere and evoking emotion from your guests.

One of the basic lighting principles ‘uplighting’ is a creative solution to add additional atmosphere to your wedding day decor design.

Uplighting is simply adding light from the floor, splashed ‘up’ a wall around the perimeter of the room. How many lights, what type of lights fixtures, what colors and what electrical requirements you need, make uplighting an element that requires skillful planning and design!

Check out these two photos of the same ballroom, but each with different colored uplighting – feel how the change in color, changes the feel of the reception room.

Our wedding planning team loves learning new lighting design and technology! Our entire team is learning how different lighting techniques can enhance our couples’ wedding day decor. When planning your wedding day decor, don’t overlook the lighting of your reception room to complement your wedding day decor.

Want to know the most popular uplighting color? It’s amber!
When you meet with me, I’ll tell you why it could be the color for your wedding uplighting!

Share with me what colors you’d choose to uplight your reception room with, in the comments section below!
