This ivory runner was personalized for their wedding ceremony at the Korean Presbyterian Church in Edmonton.

At the reception, we draped the runner over the guest book table and provided fabric paint pens for guests to sign with.

Now Daniel & Tiffanie can take this runner to their favorite framer, who will cut and place this runner inside a great frame for them. Where ever they choose to hang this keepsake, they’ll know that they walked over their names as newlyweds…and remember all those who helped celebrate with them.

It’s not that I hate the song, I do love it. What I dislike, is that couples will pick it because it’s the only recognizable classical song they may know…STOP…you don’t have to use classical music for your ceremony processional.

Unless your church is dictating the music you must use – chose music that you love to listen too, choose music you feel represents who you are…if you love classical music, then by all means use it, but find a song that represents you!

If you love classical music, and your fiance loves hard rock – then create a happy medium, like this song from Jerry C!

Now – that’s how you personalize ceremony music to who you are!

The lake shown here in mid-July hosts meadows, rocky landscapes and even a small island for those not deterred by the half hour hike in.

This is a popular spot for tourist buses to stop, but one of the meadows is traditionally a little more obscure and yet still easily accessible by your guests. As per Parks Canada guidelines, chairs are not to be used in the space but there are many ways I can assist my couples to overcome this planning hurdle.

There is something magical about mountain weddings that our team just loves. Just a short 10 minute drive from Jasper, this site does have limited parking and can be a popular spot for tour buses to stop.

Advance planning is necessary to make sure you can enjoy this stunning ceremony space in it’s natural beauty. But for those wanting a mountain & lake view where the sun seems to descend from the heavens, then is a wonderful location for your Jasper wedding ceremony.

I had the pleasure of viewing this unique space first hand yesterday – as they officially open their doors for weddings.

Whether you want an outdoor Edmonton ceremony venue for up to 500 guests or just love baseball that much – you can now enjoy exchanging nuptials right at home plate!

Guests can enter through the main entrance and concourse, or you can opt to have the big ‘game day’ gate open up for your guests to access.

The Home Run lounge is a great place to host your reception before or after your ceremony. Catering services are provided on site. You can amend this floorplan any way you like with a combination of rectangular tables and hightop tables.

And although the field was covered for my visit, you can have your ceremony on home plate or the pitchers mound. Guests may be seated in the bleachers or on chairs right on the baseball field.

Because it’s Alberta, a covered back up area is a must and the game day picnic area serves that function. Remove all the tables and this can be a great back up ceremony location, with the field still as your backdrop.

And last but not least, you’ll have your own changing room to use on the wedding day – the same one the pros use!

And there are so many fun areas on this property for you to take wedding photos – inside and outside of the field. With it’s free parking for your guests and the picturesque neighborhood of Rossdale skirting this venue, you’ll find lots of potential for hosting your wedding celebrations here.

Whether one of you, or both of you are a baseball fanatic – or you just like the idea of a different venue for your ceremony and reception, you may want to consider Telus Field as the perfect location to exchange your nuptials. Hazel & Barry exchanged their vows in one of the smaller conference rooms. The decor was kept simple & yet welcoming. Marriage commissioner Marcia Loder conducted a beautiful wedding ceremony.

As guests entered the reception, they were greeted with the monogram door decals designed by Pink Polka Design.

To accompany their Parisian Garden decor scheme, Hazel & Barry selected their favorite french wine and used the bottles as a guest book. Guests each signed a bottle, and the bottles will then be opened on their first anniversary. A wonderfully fun keepsake for the couple of their France inspired wedding.

Guests found their names on the custom ribbon placecard board that I had created which beautifully showcased the placecards. Placecards designed by Pink Polka Design were color coded to the match the entree choice each guest had selected.

Hazel & Barry knew early on that they didn’t want to receive gifts, but would rather collect donations to both the Canadian Cancer Society & Kidney Foundation of Canada in memory of 8 special family members and friends who had been affected by those illnesses…including their dog Harvey…

Inside the ballroom, we had all four walls draped with a combination of white sheer & silver satin fabrics by our draping company QSD events. A custom french blue table linen had been brought in by Elegant Touches specifically for this wedding.

The fabric draped walls softened the look of the room and kept everything within the color scheme of the decor. The addition of ambient lighting throughout the room enhanced the feeling of romance!

Assorted crystal wine glasses reclaimed from thrift stores were placed along the edge of the head table and filled within single roses.

Reclaimed frames were all painted silver and embellished with crystal arrangements. The frames were hung throughout the room on the fabric walls as inspired by the decadent french museums and their fabulous artwork.

When Hazel & Barry were discussing the perfect wedding cake to display, we knew we wanted something that would ‘pop’ against the white fabric walls. I worked closely with Deb of Deliciously Different Cakes to design a parisian cake that would boost various shades of french blue and antique inspired scrollwork moulds.

My favorite feature is that we designed the cake to ‘float’ on a bed of white orchids and dusty miller filler…dramatically changing the look of the traditional cake table!

The room was full of lushious rose blooms from La Piazza Dasee and the brides bouquet was an absolutely stunning mix of roses, orchids, calla lilies and delphiniums.

The newlyweds and their guests partied hard into the night thanks to the tunes of DJ Rob at Nuance Sound.
