Nicola & Chris :: Panache Plum

Just over a year ago, Nicola & Chris began meeting with Laurie (our Senior Associate Coordinator) to begin planning their dream wedding day.

Nicola knew from the start that she want an understated elegance that would include a rich tone of plum.

Without a cloud in the sky, the day was to be perfect right from the start. A morning ceremony at the stunning St. Joseph Basilica found our groom a little more nervous before the arrival of his bride. Shaking and anxious, Chris made his way to the alter, and when Nicola appeared, a sense of calm immediately washed over him. Their ceremony was joyous and their love evident to all who witnessed these nuptials.

Edmonton Wedding Photography :: Bride & Groom in Field

Nicola had wanted photos in a field…but alas, being so early in the farming season and our incredibly dry season meant that the farm fields were few and far between. True to form, photographer Sam of Sam Ng Photography was able to surprise our couple on their wedding day by taking them to an early field he had scouted. Just as they began their photo session, incredible fluffy and defined clouds arrived as if on cue and disappeared promptly at the close of their photo session – we love it when nature cooperates on cue for our couples.

Edmonton Wedding :: Westin Hotel :: Plum & White

Edmonton Wedding Cake :: White Lily   Edmonton Wedding Centerpiece :: White Lily

The Westin Hotel was a venue the couple fell in love with…with it’s sunken dance floor adding to the ambiance of the room. The room was delicately scented with the smell of lilies radiating from the floral centerpieces by Flowers in the Park.  The delicate lily motif was evident through the cake covered in sugar lilies created by Simply Elegant.

A sophisticated look was created with the rich plum tones accented by the shimmering white satin chair covers.

We love creating beautiful weddings for our couples – but in truth, it’s the love and happiness that fills their reception, that creates the perfect atmosphere! Our couples make our weddings a beautiful thing.

Nicola & Chris – we wish you all the very best as you begin the next stage of your life in Calgary.

I’m not suprised he was nervous – just look at the size of that church, it’s enourmous. Bit of a challenge for the photographer too I should imagine.

Nice feature, thank you.

This wedding was spectacularly done. It was the kind of wedding that every girl dreams of and was done with an understated elegance that permeated everything throughout the whole day.
