When last in San Francisco, across the street from my hotel was the most incredible Japanese Sweets shop. Never being in an authentic japanese sweet shop, I had to go on an exploratory trip.

We decided that we’d try this cute cherry in sweetened jelly. It was so delicious!

My next trip to San Francisco, I’ll have to try more of the various sweets. Or will have to find a shop like this here in Edmonton…any ideas?

What a treat when at a recent conference in San Francisco, Ethan Mantle of Componere Fine Catering treated our group of wedding planners to an ice cream cone created by the use of liquid nitrogen to chill the cream mixture instantly onsite.

Not something for an inexperienced caterer to play with, but this ice cream station can be a showy spectacle for your guests to watch and enjoy.

This day, we had a chocolate ice cream – the most velvety smooth ice cream I’ve ever had before. I’d love to help you incorporate a liquid nitrogen ice cream bar into your wedding reception or for a fun wedding treat!
