I was recently a guest at the Volunteer Appreciation event for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation {we support the Batting for Breast Cancer event every year}. It’s such an honor to help such a worthwhile organization!

Favor Style :: Japanese Sweets

When last in San Francisco, across the street from my hotel was the most incredible Japanese Sweets shop. Never being in an authentic japanese sweet shop, I had to go on an exploratory trip.

We decided that we’d try this cute cherry in sweetened jelly. It was so delicious!

My next trip to San Francisco, I’ll have to try more of the various sweets. Or will have to find a shop like this here in Edmonton…any ideas?

Favor Friday :: Seedling Favors

For those in the spring season, seedlings make a great favor option for your guests.

You can choose to present them in their soil tube as Shanna & Sheldon did…or you can pre-pot them if you need to get them in advance of your wedding like Candace & Peter did.

Just be sure to water lightly in the days prior to ensure you don’t have much of a mess when you transport them.

Candy Style :: Have You Discovered Bulk Barn?

I feel like I’ve been living under a rock, as I had no idea that Edmonton FINALLY had a Bulk Barn chain in town. So of course I had to go an excursion to this South Edmonton Common icon andlearn why my Toronto colleagues always delighted in this store.

And although it looked a little small from the outside, I was amazed at all the thousands of wonderful options in this store. Believe me, you really have to go to see it to believe it. Whether you are looking for a unique favor, or a candy buffet, you’ll find endless options here.

I came away with sea salt & cracked pepper seasoned peanuts and an old time candy favorite – curly wurleys. I’m going to have to exhibit a lot of self control on further excursions to our new Edmonton Bulk Barn.
