This day was created to be romantic – with a twist! Candace & Peter wanted to create a day of celebration – that celebrated their new family, their unique love of art, and the special people in their life through the use of Forget-Me-Nots….it was destined to be an incredible wedding day!
The sunny day started with our wedding party being brought by ETS bus to the Chapters on Whyte Aveue – the location of Peter & Candace’s first date. The crowd in Starbucks ohhh’d and awwww’d as Candace rode the escalator up to an awaiting Peter for their first glimpse of each other that day!

Our wedding party then toured the whyte ave are with Sam of Sam Ng Photography and included some very interesting urban locations. After the completion of their photos, they arrived at the UofA Faculty Club for their ceremony to solidify their new family!

Marriage commissioner Rose Rosenburger provided for an incredibly personalized ceremony. Peter & Candace not only exchanged vows with each other, but also shared vows with each other’s children.

A family sand ceremony was a wonderful touch to their ceremony. Their ceremony concluded in the most suited way possible for this couple – with a Queen song for their recessional.
As guests moved in the reception space, they were greeted with tray passed cookies and milk - the grooms most favorite snack! And to make it even more special – the groom even home baked the cookies for this celebration. Both the children young & old at heart loved this cocktail hour treat!

The room was decorated in an elegant pink and black color scheme – if you look closely, you’ll notice that even our brides’ hair matched the color scheme of the day! Luxurious tulips, roses, gerbera daisies and calla lily centerpieces were designed by Coral of Coral’s Design.

The room was full of luxurious details – from the forget-me-not designed cake which paid respect to a special tattoo on the brides’ back (designed by Simply Elegant), to rhinestone napkin buckles, and a romantic silhoutte picture for their photo guest signature frame. Their guest favors were lodgepole pine seedlings reminescent of the groom’s first job as a tree planter for the summers.

My favorite part of a wedding is usually the first dance, but this time, it was actually the second dance of the evening that all the myself & all the guests will remember – for the second dance, the bride and groom danced with their own children…it was a very emotional moment for everyone in the room to see Peter dance with his daughter Autumn.

Candace, Peter and their guests danced the night away to Marc of DJ Hotline and closed out the Faculty Club!
And for a little fun, take a look at a video montage we put together from this wedding…this is our first attempt at video…it was fun to put together!
Candace & Peter – you had an incredibly beautiful and meaningful celebration – and it was such an honour to assist you both in planning such a wonderful day. I hope the memories of your wedding day remain as vibrant as your gorgeous tattoos!!
