Life Style :: Camera Fun

I love the instant gratification of sharing wedding day photos with you – and sometimes it’s takes a while for the pro photographers to send me pictures. Alas, you blog readers get subjected to my photos while waiting around.

In an effort to get a little more knowledge & skill in operating my camera, I along with about 10 other Edmonton wedding planners, ventured over to Shandro Photo. Haley & Michael were fabulous at breaking down the details for us!

{ L-R : Michael, Sharon, Juli, Heidi & Haley }

Yes, we all look a bit perplexed, but in all honesty – exposure, ISO and aperature weren’t details we’ve tried to figure out before! It may still take some time for us to all ‘get it’ but now we at least have an idea how to make the best use of our cameras, the room lighting and composition.

Then it was practice time on a table set up that Juli of A Modern Proposal had set up.

Digital SLR cameras are affordable to for nearly everyone to purchase now at the entry level. If you can’t find the time to read your camera manual (or you find it a little dry LOL) then consider meeting up with a professional photographer to show you the ropes and ensure you get the most out of your camera.

Thanks to Haley & Michael of Shandro Photo for having the patience to endure a room of us wedding planners. Now, hopefully I can put some of these skills to good use at our next wedding!

I am still scratching my head at some of the things we went over…but surprisingly I am more confident than I was previously when looking at all the buttons on the camera! It was a great time to spend with fellow planners and learn something beyond our normal area of expertise! Your pictures are great!
