Linda & Terry

While living in Ontario, Linda and Terry quickly came to the realization that they would need some professional assistance on their wedding day…and booked our wedding coordination services.

With St. Joachims Catholic Church set as a beautiful backdrop for this fall wedding, the day started, although not without some floral drama…but more on that later, it will have it’s very own post.

With everyone in good spirits, the day continued with lots of laughter during the photo session in the gardens at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald, Edmonton with photographers F2 Studios - while preparations were underway for the transformation of the Wedgewood Room for their reception.

Lead Coordinator Emilie & Ashley also had to rework the floral centerpieces prior to the guests arrival and fix the cake from Cakes by Janna, since there were now no florals for it…but all was well when the guests walked in to be greeted by the couple and their expresso cup set favours.

With an incredible meal, great music and surrounded by fabulous family and friends - Linda & Terry did have a fantastic day, despite the hiccups the day started with…but afterall, that’s why you choose to have a wedding coordinator on-site, so that they can deal with the vendor issues, while you continue to enjoy your day.

Linda & Terry - we hope you had a great time rejuvinating in Banff and wish you all the very best as you head back East following your wedding! Thank you for allowing our team to be a part of your day!

And be sure to watch for an upcoming post, that gives a great testiment to exactly how wedding coordinators can manage the stresses on a wedding day - so that you don’t have to!

Looking for a unique way to carry your wedding rings…then a simple search of Etsy.com should help you find an untraditional and yet elegant alternative to the traditional ring pillow.

From designer EasterYu - is this unique bird’s nest ring holder or the birch slice ring holder…both are perfect for outdoor weddings

I really *heart* these ring bowls made by designer palomasnest - these ring bowls will serve as a safe place in your home to place your rings when you aren’t wearing them, and they can be personalized with your wedding details or part of your wedding vows…

Or for a beach wedding, this sand-dollar ring holder designed by portobello will be a beautiful wedding accessory…

There are many alternative ways to carry your wedding rings down the aisle if you want something unique or personalized for your wedding.

Or if you mothers still have their wedding dresses or veil - have them reworked into a heirloom wedding ring pillow…with each generation adding an embellishment (a button, or piece of ribbon, or bead detailing).

Linda and Alfred

May 20, 2008 by admin

Linda & Alfred exchanged their vows on a beautiful May long weekend - and bringing their Vietnamese and Taiwanese families together meant that we were bound to have a day full of tradition and fun! As Linda was living in Vancouver up until the wedding, the assistance of Nuance Occasions was imperative to ensure their time in Edmonton could be well utilized for planning.

Our day got started with an engagement ceremony and procession to the Gazebo at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald, Edmonton

Vietnamese engagement procession

Followed by a traditional tea ceremony in the beautiful gazebo of the Hotel MacDonald grounds.

Linda changed into dress #2 for the wedding ceremony preformed by marriage commissioner, Bill Pisarchuk, accompanied by the piano music of Piano Moments.

And then we moved onto a beautiful reception in the Hotel MacDonald Wedgewood Room. Flowers and centerpieces were designed by Flowers in the Park.

And this decadent four tiered cake was designed by Simply Elegant, incorporating elements of the Wedgewood Room mouldings into the design.

And before the entree was served, it is time to change into dress #3 - another traditional Vietnamese dress

I always love the desserts at Hotel MacDonald - this is the creative presentation of Tiramisu

And finally, Linda changed into dress #4 as we prepared to cut the cake and enjoy the rest of the evening!

Linda and Alfred had so much fun with their photographer - Sam Ng Photographics - we’re still waiting on his photos, but know they’ll be spectacular. Their evening music was provided by Revolution Entertainment.  And our hair & make up team from Kaobella even came out to redo her hair for a second look before the wedding ceremony! We had such a great team of vendors!

It was an absolute pleasure to assist Linda and Alfred plan their special day - thank you both for allowing our team to be a part of the many special elements to your wedding day!
