Candace & Peter :: Rockin’ Romance
June 8, 2009
This day was created to be romantic - with a twist! Candace & Peter wanted to create a day of celebration - that celebrated their new family, their unique love of art, and the special people in their life through the use of Forget-Me-Nots….it was destined to be an incredible wedding day!
The sunny day started with our wedding party being brought by ETS bus to the Chapters on Whyte Aveue - the location of Peter & Candace’s first date. The crowd in Starbucks ohhh’d and awwww’d as Candace rode the escalator up to an awaiting Peter for their first glimpse of each other that day!

Our wedding party then toured the whyte ave are with Sam of Sam Ng Photography and included some very interesting urban locations. After the completion of their photos, they arrived at the UofA Faculty Club for their ceremony to solidify their new family!
Marriage commissioner Rose Rosenburger provided for an incredibly personalized ceremony. Peter & Candace not only exchanged vows with each other, but also shared vows with each other’s children.

A family sand ceremony was a wonderful touch to their ceremony. Their ceremony concluded in the most suited way possible for this couple - with a Queen song for their recessional.

As guests moved in the reception space, they were greeted with tray passed cookies and milk - the grooms most favorite snack! And to make it even more special - the groom even home baked the cookies for this celebration. Both the children young & old at heart loved this cocktail hour treat!

The room was decorated in an elegant pink and black color scheme - if you look closely, you’ll notice that even our brides’ hair matched the color scheme of the day! Luxurious tulips, roses, gerbera daisies and calla lily centerpieces were designed by Coral of Coral’s Design.

The room was full of luxurious details - from the forget-me-not designed cake which paid respect to a special tattoo on the brides’ back (designed by Simply Elegant), to rhinestone napkin buckles, and a romantic silhoutte picture for their photo guest signature frame. Their guest favors were lodgepole pine seedlings reminescent of the groom’s first job as a tree planter for the summers.

My favorite part of a wedding is usually the first dance, but this time, it was actually the second dance of the evening that all the myself & all the guests will remember - for the second dance, the bride and groom danced with their own children…it was a very emotional moment for everyone in the room to see Peter dance with his daughter Autumn.

Candace, Peter and their guests danced the night away to Marc of DJ Hotline and closed out the Faculty Club!
And for a little fun, take a look at a video montage we put together from this wedding…this is our first attempt at video…it was fun to put together!
Candace & Peter - you had an incredibly beautiful and meaningful celebration - and it was such an honour to assist you both in planning such a wonderful day. I hope the memories of your wedding day remain as vibrant as your gorgeous tattoos!!

Rhea & Carlo :: Romantic Roses
May 31, 2009
Earlier this month Rhea & Carlo celebrated their Filipino nuptials with a large celebration. This was a special day for Rhea & Carlo because of the long distance they’ve had to live apart due to Rhea’s job in Japan…but Carlo was a stellar groom & did so much of the planning while Rhea was out of the country. Their love was strong and very evident - despite the distance they must live for now!
The day started at the always beautiful St. Joseph Basilica in downtown Edmonton - their full mass Filipino ceremony included 44 people in the processional - and of course included the veil, cord and arras ceremonies! Rhea was a picture of beauty with her cathedral length mantilla veil!

As the wedding party proceeded to a fun photo shoot in downtown Edmonton with Kelsy & Kelly of Kelsy Nielson Photographer - the preparations were underway for the 350+ reception at the Crowne Plaza-Chateau Lacombe. The ballroom was transformed into a wonderful bloom of romantic red roses created by Coral’s Designs! Their head table decor was artfully crafted by Exquisite Creations, as was the cake table and guest book table.

To continue with the romance, Rhea & Carlo danced their first dance to a song sung by her brother, and then enjoyed the rest of the night thanks to DJ Bas of Hear by Request.
We truly enjoyed being able to coordinate the final month of preparations for Rhea and Carlo! Rhea is already back in Japan in as we write this post….but they had shared a wonderful wedding week with their family and friends - and I know their love will keep them both close, despite the distance!

Congratulations on your wonderful wedding day Rhea & Carlo!

Entertainment Style :: Happy Heads
May 6, 2009
Working with so many incredible weddings, I’m always on the search for the next entertainment idea that will ensure your guests have the most incredible wedding reception.
Now you and your guests can start in your own karaoke video - and you don’t have to be a dancer or singer!
Happy Heads uses leading edge technology to super impose your guests’ heads onto bodies within a video. Your guests simply bop around to the music, draped in special green screen fabric. Instantly their heads are transposed into the video while other guests watch on. At the end, each guest in the performance gets a DVD copy and at the end of the night, you get a master copy of all the videos your guests did.
If you are looking for entertainment that any guest, of any age, and any ability can participate in, I’m sure you’ll agree that Happy Heads could be a perfectly fun and exciting activity for your guests to participate in (and I’m sure you’re already thinking about the blackmail opportunities you’ll have with your guests too, it’s too hilarious not to put onto Facebook afterwards LOL!)

Whether you have an iPhone or iPod, chances are you’ve had a chance to explore many of the various applications available for your techno toy…but did you realize you it can help make your wedding plans just a little bit easier?
Let me share with you some of the tools and applications I’ve discovered that can assist you with the massive amounts of wedding details you need to manage - especially if you have an iPod touch or iPhone.

My Wedding allows you to keep the necessary checklists and details at hand at anytime. Know where you are in your plans and what tasks you need to complete next.

Air Sharing allows you to easily upload PDF copies of all your contracts and decor quotes so that you have your vendor contact information at hand, can remember how many table centerpieces you need, and be able to reassure yourself about any of your booked services at any time.

The iBridal Gown Shopping Assistant is for brides who must head out shopping for the perfect bridal gown on their own, this application may just help guide you into the styles you should consider for your body type. Step out of your comfort zone & try a style you normally wouldn’t - afterall, your wedding gown shouldn’t look like anything else you’d normally wear!!
And now, for pure entertainment…or for pure procrastination LOL

For limited time, you can get a FREE version of Wedding Dash Lite - and step into my role to plan a wedding!! You get to be the wedding planner in the first 5 levels of this game - but if you are still itching for more planning excitement, you can purchase the full version in the application store!
You never know where you’ll find a trick to make your wedding plans more effortless and efficient (or more fun) - so don’t hesitate to stop and check out what technology may be waiting for upload onto your iPod or iPhone!
